| Description |
The Foundation for Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) is seeking volunteers to support the 2012 Campaign for Student Success. Make a difference in students’ lives by participating in a convenient Call Session; participants can reach out to community members to receive their contributions or participate in Friends Asking Friends, a social media and e-mail outreach tool.
Escalating dollars-per-unit tuition cost forces many students to drop out of school. Community support takes on even greater importance as state funding for education dwindles. Volunteer efforts are vital for the success of SBCC students.
Previous volunteers describe the Campaign as a very rewarding and enriching experience. Participants learn about the vast opportunities available at SBCC, meet others dedicated to the cause of higher education, and most importantly help students in need. High school students receive volunteer credit and work experience. Full training is provided.
The Campaign is the most important initiative that the Foundation embarks upon to raise funds for critical programs and student support. With community support all Santa Barbara County residents who want to attend college can, despite their income.
Keep the doors of opportunity open at SBCC and volunteer for the Campaign for Student Success.
